Vestas gets 58MW Poland order

Danish turbine manufacturer Vestas has received a firm order for 29 of its V100-2.0MW turbines from EDF Energies Nouvelles for a Polish wind project.

The wind park is one of the largest in north-westen Poland and will be installed in the Lubuskie province near Rzepin.

Delivery is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2015, with commissioning of the wind farm expected for the fouth quarter of 2015.

"It is a pleasure for us to announce another large order for Poland to further build on the long-term partnership with our highly-valued customer EDF EN," says Klaus Steen Mortensen, president of Vestas Northern Europe.

The EPC contract includes foundation works, supply, installation and commissioning, as well as a two-year service agreement.

It is a part of a framework agreement signed between EDF EN and Vestas for Europe and the US in 2011.

Vestas has delivered about 540 wind turbines with a combined capacity to generate more than 1,100MW in Poland.
