Trials, carried out at the Marin wave basin in Zweginengen, showed a turbine mated with the concrete and steel gravity base design could be transported with only "mild accelerations" at nacelle height, even in 12-metre-tall waves.
Installation of the Monobase would be restricted to sea states with waves as high as 2.5 metres, such as is common in the southern North Sea.
