The project company developing Lake Turkana – set to be among Africa’s largest – expects to begin work on the wind farm early in the New Year after an agreement was signed between the Kenyan government, national network operator Ketraco and the African Development Bank (AfDB), said reports from Nairobi.

The deal cements a €20m ($24.7m) guarantee from the AfDB as part of a public-private finance agreement signed this week to underpin the transmission link – offering protection for the wind farm's developers if the power line is not finished on schedule.
