The twenty year agreement covers “at least half” of the energy which the 99 MW Star Point wind farm in Sherman County will produce when it starts operating at the end of 2010. Iberdrola says that the agreement “guarantees the profitability” of Star Point, where construction is currently underway. Iberdrola said that the contract will allow MID to increase its power from renewable sources from 12% to 16%, bringing it closer to its target of 20% by 2017.
