Last month AES – one of the world’s largest power companies and among the biggest generators of wind energy in the US – announced that chief executive Paul Hanrahan would be replaced by chief operating officer (COO) Andres Gluski.
As one of his first acts at the helm, Gluski has announced that AES will be remoulded into just two business units – Generation, which includes its power plants and growing stable of renewables assets, and Utilities, which oversees its distribution operations.
