ABB ties up cabling vessel for five years as wind work mounts

The deal is part of the power engineering group’s efforts to secure the kit it needs to deliver its growing backlog of offshore wind-related orders.

The contract is a continuation of ABB’s existing two-year charter of Team Oman, but the length of the new contract will allow significant upgrades to be made to the vessel, says Dubai-based Topaz. The new contract goes live in early 2012.
