The companies want to develop projects in the 1,082sq km offshore lease area proposed by the US Interior Department (DOI) in April.
Those responding positively to the DOI proposal also include Fishermen’s Energy, which is developing a pilot demonstration project of up to 25MW in state waters off Atlantic City.
Other contenders are Bluewater Wind; OffshoreMW, part of the Blackstone Group, a leading investment firm; Garden State Offshore Energy, a joint venture between Deepwater Wind and PSEG Energy Holdings; and TCI Renewables of the UK.
