The pro-wind group assembled in Swanage, Dorset, as opponentscalled for the 1.1GW Navitus Bay wind farm project to be blocked.

The pro- and anti-wind farm factions numbered about 100 and300 respectively, according to local reports. The project’s supporters, who includedlocal environmental campaigners, said they wanted to ensure their point of viewwas heard.

In response to earlier consultations, co-developers Enecoand EDF recently scaled-back the maximum size of the project by 115 turbinesand moved its near-shore boundary 3km further from the towns of Bournemouth,Christchurch and Poole.

Development
