The country generated 100.8 terawatt hours from wind in 2012, up from 71.5TWh in 2011, said a statement from the National Energy Administration.

Grid-connected capacity rose from 47.9GW to 62.7GW.

China has about 75GW of installed wind capacity, and its authorities have pledged to make improved grid connections a priority over the next three years.

The country is targeting 100GW of grid-connected wind by 2015.
