Vestas will supply 22 V100-1.8 MW and 35 V100-2.0 MW turbines to the LosCururos wind project in the country’s Coquimbo region.

Delivery is scheduled in the third quarter of this year, with the wind farmdue for commissioning in Q3 2014.

The order comes from Colombian utility Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM)and includes a 10-year service agreement.

Vestas says its turbines account for more than half of Chile’s total windcapacity, which is in excess of 200MW.
