The 3.6MW Siemens machine was placed yesterday at the project site off the coast of North Wales by the SeaJack installation vessel.
The turbine is the first of 160 that will be installed out of the €2bn ($2.57bn) project’s operations base at Port of Mostyn in Flintshire.
The 576MW Gwynt y Môr is a joint venture by German partners RWE Innogy, SWM and Siemens.
