The 49-metre-long blade will be among 372 that the facility will manufacture for 124 2.3MW turbines to be installed at the South Kent wind project in the province.

Siemens overhauled the vacant building in 2010 as part of a broader investment effort to compete in the expanding Canadian wind energy market. The plant - which now employees 200 people - is Siemens’ second in North America for blades.
