The plant will supply 166 towers for a 299MW project in Alberta being developed jointly by EDF Renewable Energy and Enbridge. Vestas also won a contract to supply towers for another unnamed turbine vendor, the first time it won third-party business.
The plant can produce 1,000 towers a year but has been operating at a fraction of capacity.
