Today's launch of the UK’s long-awaited Offshore Wind Industrial Strategy was accompanied by calls from business secretary Vince Cable for up to 70% of the content used on British projects to be supplied locally.
The government also said it may require developers to submit a “supply-chain plan” when applying under the new Contract for Difference (CfD) support regime.
It was not immediately clear what the implications for a project of failing to meet those ambitions would be.
