The company now has 100 employees at its Montreal headquarters, and says it supports 450 manufacturing jobs through turbine component purchases in the economically hard-pressed Gaspé region in eastern Quebec.
REpower’s partnership with developer EDF Energies Nouvelles has vaulted it into second place behind General Electric among wind turbine suppliers in the French-speaking province. Thus far, 530MW of a contracted 1,003MW has been placed in commercial operation on time and within budget.
