The deal is Suzlon’s first in the country. It secured the order from Rouar, a joint venture between Uruguyan state utility UTE and Eletrobras, the Brazilian power giant.
Suzlon will deliver 31 of its S95 2.1MW machines with a 90-metre hub height to a wind farm Rouar is developing in the southern Colonia department.
The Indian group will handle EPC at the project, which is due for completion in September 2014.
