The rules of the tender required that all turbine models submitted must have been at least 1MW and have passed a test operation of 240 hours within China. Winning companies also had to have produced and installed at least 50 units of the turbine.
Companies stealing a march on foreign rivals
Dongfang STW, Goldwind, Guodian United, Mingyang, Sinovel, Xiangdian and Windey will supply the wind turbines for 25 projects totalling 5.25 gigawatts (GW) at three massive sites in Inner Mongolia and Hebei province.
