"The government will sponsor offshore wind farm developers [by paying for] at least two 3MW-sized turbines as a form of subsidy," says Huang Yu-Chin, section chief of the bureau of energy with the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
"The two turbines can help the developer lower capital risks, and the government aid can also give financiers confidence to finance the project."
He says each project should be a minimum of 50MW.
