Developer, a consortium formed by principals of several US East Coast fishing companies, envisions placing six turbines in shallow state-owned waters in the Atlantic Ocean about 2.8 miles (4.5km) from shore. The turbines will have maximum 25MW combined of electricity generation capacity, enough for about 10,000 homes.
The permits provide a license to site the turbines offshore, and an easement for a cable to be laid under the seaside resort’s beach and boardwalk that would link the turbines to a substation onshore.
