The deal gives Repsol a major foothold in the UK’s burgeoning offshore wind sector, where SERL has interests in three development zones.

Repsol subsidiary Repsol Nuevas Energias will purchase the 80.13% of SERL held by SeaEnergy, its current parent group, and the remaining shares held by SERL’s management.

Repsol simultaneously has formed a consortium with Portuguese renewables giant EDPR to develop a total of 2.4GW
