The total cost of generating electricity at offshore wind farms is predicted to fall 15% between now and 2022, or about 1.4% per year, according to a study compiled by the consultancy BVG Associates for the trade body RenewableUK.
Although the period after 2022 is less clear, another 15% reduction by 2034 is “well within the capability of the industry”, the report finds.
