Chief executive Andreas Nauen told investors at the company’s annual meeting in Hamburg that favouritism towards Chinese manufacturers had forced the German Suzlon-subsidiary to consider a number of exit strategies.
“China continues to close off its market to foreign suppliers,” he says. The market share of international suppliers in China has continued to fall to around 10%, according to Nauen – providing the main reason for REpower’s withdrawal.
