Denise Bode, chief executive of the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), says a bill to extend the PTC for four years was introduced in the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

The PTC is worth $0.022 per kilowatt hour generated by a wind project for its first 10 years in operation, helping wind compete with low-cost natural-gas fired generation. The federal incentive is available to projects built before the end of 2012.
