Able, which is owned by British businessman Peter Stephenson, is developing a huge area on the south Humber Bank, downstream from the Alexandra dock site where Siemens and Associated British Ports plan to develop manufacturing facilities for the German company’s 6MW offshore turbine.
The plans are centred on the Able Marine Energy Park, which features a 1.3km-long berthing quay designed by German infrastructure company Hochtief, which has a load capacity of 20-60 tonnes per square metre.
