In a landmark deal for Germany’s burgeoning offshore wind sector, the economics and environment ministries agreed on a number of “key elements” to be included in future legislation that will see German consumers assume vast financial responsibility for delayed or damaged offshore transmission lines.
The proposals would apply to wind farms under construction and future projects — meaning that developers could build projects along existing timelines and still be compensated even if there is no grid in place.
