A spokesperson for co-developer AGL Energy says the man was struck by a falling object on his hardhat and shoulder while working on a turbine tower at the 420MW project, which is being built by Vestas and Leighton Contractors in the state of Victoria.

The injured worker is in a stable condition and was airlifted to hospital in Melbourne.

“[Safety body] WorkSafe Victoria has been onsite today conducting a full investigation with assistance from AGL’s contractors, Vestas Leighton Contractors,” the spokesperson adds.
