Efimov was already Fuhrländer’s joint-venture partner and main customer in Ukraine, and is general director of the Kramatorsk-based steel group Energomashspetsstal (EMSS).

A new factory in Kramatorsk that will produce Fuhrländer’s 2.5MW turbines should allow its customers to overcome the onerous local-content regulations that the Ukrainian government is introducing.

Analyst MAKE Consulting estimates that Ukraine has the potential to achieve 16GW of capacity by 2030.
