Jamieson to head-up UK offshore technology 'catapult'

Jamieson joins Orec from ScottishPower Renewables, where he was policy and innovation director. He also chairs RenewableUK, the trade body for wind and marine renewables.

Until recently Jamieson was chairman of the UK's joint government-industry Offshore Wind Cost Reduction Task Force.

Scheduled to open its doors next year in Glasgow, Orec aims to match-make technology and knowledge-based companies with research, development and testing facilities.

Orec aims to have “strong links” with centres of excellence across the UK, including the European Marine Energy Centre (Emec) in Scotland’s Orkney Islands and Wave Hub in southwest England.
