First Wind sells 49% stake in 385MW to new partner Emera

The transaction will give Emera, parent company of Nova Scotia Power, a 49% stake in Northeast Wind Partners, which will own and operate eight First Wind-developed projects in Maine, Vermont and New York.

Emera paid $211m for the ownership stake and agreed to loan a Northeast Wind subsidiary $150m, to be repaid in five years. First Wind maintains a 51% ownership position and will serve as managing partner.
