Forewind – comprising RWE, SSE, Statoil and Statkraft – has now bagged permission from National Grid to link a total of 2GW of capacity into the existing Creyke Beck substation near Cottingham, on the north side of the Humber Estuary in eastern England.

The electricity flowing to that substation will be generated at the first zone – known as Creyke Beck – to be carved out of the massive Dogger Bank area.
