Within the joint venture – to be known as ABB Inocean – the Swiss-Swedish engineering giant will handle the electrical and cabling work, while Inocean will focus on the subsea platforms that hold the massive offshore substations above water.

ABB will be the majority shareholder in the new entity.

Inocean business director Peter Larsson, who will oversee the joint venture from its new headquarters in Gothenburg, tells Recharge that the first order of business will be managing construction at two existing ABB projects – the DolWin1 and DolWin2 clusters in the German North Sea.

Since
