The order includes 14km of cable to connect Belwind 2 and Northwind, and another 43km that will flow the 381MW of electricity produced at both projects to an Elia-owned connection station at Zeebrugge.

Both Belwind 2 and Northwind (formerly known as Eldepasco) are backed by Belgium supermarket Colruyt, while development work at both projects is being spearheaded by Frank Coenen – who has already led development of the 165MW Belwind 1.
