Bilfinger Berger, which already installs foundations, will link with steel construction specialist Crist and state-owned investment fund Mars to launch the new manufacturing operation at Gryfia, Poland.
The plant expects to process 80,000 tonnes of steel annually to produce 80 wind turbine foundations when it begins operation in 2014, following a €50m ($65.4m) investment by the joint venture partners.
