enXco orders 50MW from REpower for US wind upgrade

REpower Systems has won a contract to supply 25 2MW turbines to US developer enXco, to replace older equipment at a California wind farm.

The MM92 turbines will be used at the EDF Energies Nouvelles subsidiary’s Shiloh 4 wind farm, situated in Solano County, says REpower's Indian parent company Suzlon.

Germany-based REpower has already supplied enXco’s Shiloh 2 and Shiloh 3 facilities.

When the new Shiloh 4 turbines are added, the wind farms will have a capacity of more than 300MW, making them REpower’s largest US project yet.

Tulsi Tanti, Suzlon’s chairman, claims the company is now “very well positioned” in the US market.

The Suzlon group has installed more than 3.15GW across 20 states in the US and two Canadian provinces.
