The deal – revealed by Miguel Saad, president of CPFL Renováveis – is the first confirmation of an Acciona sale in Brazil, although the Spanish group is understood to be negotiating with other developers that won contracts in previous federal power tenders.
Acciona’s AW 3000 turbines have been approved by Brazilian development bank BNDES, allowing developers that choose the turbines access to the bank’s financing.
