Denmark will put 450MW out for tender and allocate a further 50MW zone to test wind turbines, says its Ministry of Climate, Energy and Buildings.

An increase in offshore wind power was a key part of the national “energy settlement” agreed by the Danish government and opposition parties earlier this year.

The six sites chosen are at Bornholm, Smaaland, Sejeroe and Saeby, along with two areas in the south and north of the Danish North Sea.
