Some 9.5TWh flowed onto the grid from wind, solar, and bio-power developments in the third quarter in Britain – a jump of over 25% from a year earlier.

Renewable generation represented 11.7% of total electricity production, up from 9.1% at the same point in 2011.

Offshore wind led the way with a rise of 54.2% in output, to almost 1.7TWh, while onshore wind generation climbed by 38.2%
