Iberdrola says that the project will use 325 turbines and will create 2,700 jobs during its construction phase. The consortium hopes onshore construction will begin in 2016, offshore construction in 2017, and the wind farm will be commissioned in 2018.

East Anglia 1 is the first project in Iberdrola and Vattenfall’s 7.2GW East Anglia Round 3 zone.

The construction project will include 5 offshore substations and four 73km long export cables, as well as a new onshore substation next to the existing Bramford substation, which will connect the wind farm to the national grid.
