After Taiwan, Japan will be the next big market for offshore wind power in Asia, with projects of at least 600MW starting to be installed from 2022-23 on, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) offshore wind chief executive Andreas Nauen said.

“Everything falls into place there. You have an existing industry, decent wind conditions, and legislation is currently being passed through parliament,” Nauen told Recharge in an interview during the Global Wind Summit in Hamburg.
