Wind resource assessment specialist NRG Systems has acquired a portfolio of technology developed by Pentalum, best-known for use in the SpiDAR Vertical Wind Profiler.
Israel-based Pentalum was a pioneer in low-cost 'Direct Detect' Lidar technology, with SpiDar now in use on five continents, according to a statement from NRG announcing the deal.
“Pentalum’s technology, when paired with NRG’s global sales and service capabilities, is a significant advantage for our customers, and a great new opportunity for customers who could not previously justify the high cost of Doppler Lidar solutions,” said US-based NRG.
