Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas together with local partners in early 2019 will start producing around 100 rotor blades at its new RUB1bn ($14.2m) factory in Russia’s Ulyanovsk region, the Russian wind power association RAWI said.

Production start at the Ulyanovsk plant had originally been planned for late 2018. The plant at first will manufacture blades for Vestas’ 3.6MW turbines, with the possibility of later also producing blades for 4.2MW
