Broadwind Energy, the US maker of wind-turbine towers for customers like Siemens Gamesa and GE, has lowered its financial guidance for the second half of 2018, saying uncertainty stemming from President Donald Trump’s tariffs on steel imports is making it harder to negotiate with customers.

Broadwind, which operates wind-tower factories in Texas and Wisconsin, now expects third-quarter revenues of $31m-$32m, down around 10% from the $34m-$36m guidance the company gave investors at the end of July.
