German OEM Enercon will launch an upgraded version of its E-138 EP3 turbine for low winds (IEC IIIA) at the WindEnergy Hamburg trade show later this month.
The new version of the 4.2MW machine, called the E-138 EP3 E2, will have an up-to-10% higher energy yield at wind speeds of 7.5 metres per hour, Enercon told Recharge.
“The objective of the development is to significantly lower the levelised cost of energy once more,” Enercon sales director Stefan Lütkemeyer said.
