The UK wind industry stepped up its lobbying of the government over support of future onshore development, as it warned of a “steep drop-off of investment and capacity” after a record 2017.

A report from industry body RenewableUK says the best-ever 2.61GW of onshore capacity brought online in Britain last year and the £5.3bn ($6.9bn) of investment value it generated won’t be repeated unless policy swings back behind land-based development.
