US wind jobs hit new record but clouds loom, says DOE

Employment in the US wind sector is at an all-time high, but domestic manufacturing capability may outstrip demand by 2021, and the post-PTC outlook for the market remains uncertain, the US Department of Energy says.

There were a record 105,500 full-time workers employed in the US wind industry last year, up modestly on the year prior, according to the DOE’s sweeping 2017 Wind Technologies Market Report published this week.
