Colombia’s new government has confirmed that the country will hold a tender in January 2019 to contract renewables and other energy technologies for a 10-year period.

Mines and Energy Minister Maria Fernanda Suaréz said she is committed to achieving the 1.5GW target for contracting renewables set by President Iván Duque before his four-year term in office concludes. He was sworn in on 7 August.
