Revenue and profit were little changed at Danish wind turbine giant Vestas during the second quarter of 2018, but orders soared to an all-time high amid strong global demand as turbine prices stabilised at a low level.
“In the first half of 2018, the wind industry strengthened its position as the cheapest form of energy generation in many markets, which drove strong global demand,” chief executive Anders Runevald said.
