Brazilian industry is pushing the government to bar imports of wind turbines smaller than 5.5MW, as the six OEMs with local assembly facilities are now offering machines bigger than 3.5MW for recently contracted capacity.

“We are talking with different ministries to convince them to give greater security to OEMs that invested in the country,” Roberto Veiga, head of the wind power committee at the Brazilian Association of Heavy Equipment Makers (Abimaq) tells Recharge.
