Installer GeoSea has completed the installation of 20 suction-bucket jacket foundations at the 450MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 project in the German North Sea.
The unit of Belgian marine engineering group DEME had already installed the first ever suction bucket jacket at Orsted’s 312MW Borkum Riffgrund 1 array in 2014. Orsted, together with Borkum Riffgrund 2 co-owner Global Infrastructure Partners, for the first time has utilised this type of foundations at one of its wind farms on such a large scale.
