Siemens Gamesa is in line to supply the 380MW Fryslân near-shore wind farm off the Netherlands after its consortium with contractor Van Oord was named preferred supplier to the project.
The OEM is set to supply its 4.3MW SWT-DD-130 machines to the project in the artificial Ijsselmeer lake, with Van Oord responsible for foundations and balance of plant.
The province of Friesland is a partner in the €500m ($579m) Fryslân project, which is due to help supply clean power to local homes.
